We inspected the low-slope metal roof over this Highway 12 Dairy Queen and the businesses that share its building, marking hail hits on the rooftop units and metal panels in 2023 and returning for coping and flashing work in 2024.
Molly's Cafe & Motel, 810 MN-7, Silver Lake
This Highway 7 motel and cafe complex has a long shingled roofline running the length of the guest rooms plus a separate cafe roof. Our 2024 inspection covered every section, from the motel ridge to the cafe's dining patio roof.

Annandale
Annandale calls itself the Heart of the Lakes, with 26 lakes inside a 10-mile radius and the 1895 Thayer Hotel on the National Register of Historic Places downtown. We've worked on roofs on Irvine Avenue and Acacia Drive, where tree cover off the lakes means more moss, debris in valleys and wind-lifted ridge caps than in open country.

One of Wright County's smallest cities, South Haven was platted in 1888 along the railroad and sits just south of the Stearns County line near Annandale and Maple Lake. The hardest hail we've documented in this region hit a Delano job site on August 5, 2019, at 4 inches, large enough to crack shingles, dent metal roofing and put holes in soft-metal vents outright. More recent storms have been smaller but still damaging: 1.25" hail near Delano on August 11, 2023, and 1.75" hail near Waverly and 1" near Buffalo the same summer. Storms in this corridor tend to track from Meeker County into Wright and McLeod Counties on the same summer evenings, which is why we see damage reports cluster across several of these towns at once.

Inside city limits, Annandale, Buffalo, Delano, South Haven, Waverly, Litchfield, Hutchinson, Glencoe and Silver Lake each issue their own building permits for a roof replacement under the Minnesota State Building Code.
