Do you check if my roof can be repaired before quoting a replacement?
Yes, every time. Step 1 is a repair check: brittleness, shingle ID and match, decking and Minnesota code. If a repair will buy you real years, we tell you. If not, we show you why with photos.
Does Minnesota code require ice and water shield on a new roof?
Yes. The Minnesota Residential Code marks ice barrier underlayment as required. On shingle roofs it runs from the eave to at least 24 inches inside the exterior wall (IRC R905.1.2 as adopted in Minnesota). We also add it in valleys and around penetrations.

Will insurance pay for my new roof?
If your roof was damaged by a covered event like hail or wind, your homeowners policy may cover replacement. Normal wear and age usually isn't covered. We document the damage and provide an estimate; your insurer decides the claim.
