Arden Hills
Arden Hills is home to the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant, now being redeveloped as Rice Creek Commons on land the county bought from the federal government in 2013. Around Lake Johanna and Bethel University, roofs run from 1960s ramblers to newer construction, and we've chalk-marked hail hits on both during inspections here.

Murzyn Hall, opened as a WPA-built field house in 1939 and was renamed in 1979 for longtime Park Superintendent John Murzyn Sr. Housing here runs older and dense near Central Avenue, with steeper roofs and more chimneys needing flashing work than the newer edges of town.

Circle Pines began in 1948 as a planned cooperative community started by V.S. Peterson, with residents buying shares in the co-op that ran the town's stores and utilities; the circle-and-two-pines symbol of the national cooperative movement gave the city its name. We re-roofed a townhome association here near Golden Lake in 2024, coordinating with the association through tear-off and shingle delivery.

Coon Rapids Dam, built in 1913-14 to generate hydroelectric power for the Twin Cities, was handed over for park use in 1969 and today anchors Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park along the Mississippi. Neighborhoods here range from postwar ramblers near the river to newer construction further from the water, each with different roof ages and pitches.

Falcon Heights hosts both the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus, giving this small city an outsized number of visitors every August. Housing is mostly mid-century single-family homes on a tight grid near Larpenteur and Snelling, with straightforward gable roofs that still take direct hail from the same storm cells that cross the fairgrounds.

Forest Lake was known to the Ojibwe as Green Lake and to the Dakota by a name referencing eagle burials, before township organized in 1874 and the city incorporated in 1893. Its ice fishing contests have drawn thousands since the 1950s, and lake-facing roofs here see the same wind exposure as other North Metro lake towns. The North Metro sits inside one of the Twin Cities' most hail-prone corridors. NOAA storm reports put 2-inch hail near our St. Anthony job sites on June 19, 2026, the largest reported there since 2015, and the Arden Hills, Shoreview and North Oaks area saw 3-inch hail on July 26, 2019, among the largest hail stones recorded anywhere in the metro. Hail that size can crack shingles, dent gutters, coping and rooftop units, and damage siding and screens, often without any obvious sign from the ground.

Permits across the North Metro
Every city in this area requires a building permit for roof replacement under the Minnesota State Building Code, and Repair King pulls it under our Minnesota contractor license (BC695228). Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids and St. Anthony each run their own building department and issue roofing permits directly; some, like Blaine, also require a specific storm-damage permit process and set ice-and-water underlayment rules for reroofed mobile and manufactured homes.
Outside city limits in places like St. Francis and Zimmerman townships, and for Elk River and Sherburne County addresses, permits can run through the county's planning and zoning office instead of a city hall. We confirm the right jurisdiction before scheduling any tear-off.
North Oaks and many Circle Pines, Vadnais Heights and Blaine townhome and apartment associations require architectural or board approval of shingle color before work starts. We provide spec sheets and samples for that paperwork on request.
