St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 428 Main St
St. Stanislaus Kostka Church has seated up to 400 people since it was built with a local-farmer-quarried stone foundation and Minneapolis-made stained glass windows. We inspected the steep gothic roofline and brick gable in May 2022, checking shingles, flashing and soffit venting from ground level up to the steeple base.

The Bowlus Community Center was built to echo the look of the original 1907 Soo Line depot that once stood nearby, and it sits along the Soo Line Recreational Trail. We inspected the roof and the adjoining park pavilion in May 2022.

Bowlus doesn't see hail as often as the Twin Cities metro, but it isn't spared. Around Bowlus
Bowlus was platted in 1907 by the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad (the Soo Line) and incorporated as a village the following year. Many of the area's early families came from Silesia in Poland, which is why St. Stanislaus Kostka Church anchors Main Street; the church was built to seat 400 people, with a stone foundation quarried by local farmers and stained-glass windows shipped in from Minneapolis.
